Emergency Medical Responder Course

100 hours: 30 hours online learning, 70 hours in-class (10 days). Online learning hours must be completed before attending the in-class portion.

Delta First Safety offers an in-depth Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) course designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge required for appropriate patient assessments, interventions, and on-going care, including patient transport to a healthcare facility. The course adheres to National Occupational Competency Profiles (NOCP) as outlined by the Paramedic Association of Canada and may be adapted based on jurisdictional requirements. Participants will engage with dynamic training techniques, such as video presentations, skills demonstrations, practice sessions, discussions, and real-life scenarios.

Audience

Professionals in emergency medical care responsible for initial assessments, providing safe and prudent care, and transporting patients to healthcare facilities.

Prerequisites

Certification in Standard First Aid with CPR Level C.

Grade 10 English (suggested)

Completion Requirements

Successfully demonstrate the required skills

Achieve a minimum of 75% on a written, closed-book knowledge evaluation

Successfully complete two evaluated scenarios (one medical, one trauma)

Attend and participate in 100% of the course

Certification

3-year certification in Emergency Medical Responder (digital certificate issued upon successful completion)
