Course Description: Emergency First Aid and CPR Training
This course is equivalent to Occupational First Aid Level 1, now designated as Basic First Aid (OFA Level 1) and is recognized by WorkSafeBC
Course Location: 7311 Vantage Wy #106, Delta, BC V4G 1C9
Minimum Participants: A minimum of 4 participants is required to request onsite training.

CPR A:
- Option 1: 6.5 hours of in-class training
- Option 2: 3.5 hours of in-class training + 4 hours of online learning

- Option 1: 7.5 hours of in-class training
- Option 2: 4.5 hours of in-class training + 4 hours of online learning
Course Overview:
Our one-day Emergency First Aid and CPR training program is designed for individuals seeking essential lifesaving skills for the workplace or home. This course aligns with the requirements of provincial/territorial worker safety and insurance boards, incorporating the latest first aid and CPR guidelines.

Completion Requirements:
To successfully complete the course, participants must:
- Successfully demonstrate critical skills and procedures
- Achieve a minimum passing grade of 75% on the written knowledge evaluation
- Attend and actively participate in 100% of the course
Certification:
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a 3-year certification in:
- Emergency First Aid
- CPR Level A or C
Recertification:
For recertification, the following options are available:
- CPR A: 4 hours of in-class training or 3 hours of in-class training + 4 hours of online learning
- CPR C: 5 hours of in-class training or 4 hours of in-class training + 4 hours of online learning
*Recertification availability may vary by jurisdiction, and the duration of online learning depends on the individual learner.
Course Content:
The course covers the following critical topics, and includes opioid poisoning awareness information:
- Introduction to the Red Cross
- Preparing to Respond
- The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) System
- Check, Call, Care
- Managing Airway Emergencies
- Addressing Breathing and Circulation Emergencies
- First Aid for Respiratory and Cardiac Arrest
- Wound Care
- Opioid Poisoning Awareness
This course also includes any additional content required by specific legislation.
Optional Workshop: Opioid Poisoning Awareness (60 minutes):
Participants have the option to attend a 60-minute Opioid Poisoning Awareness Workshop. In this session, individuals will learn how to recognize, access help, and provide care for suspected opioid poisoning, contributing to the prevention of fatalities and disabilities.
