Prerequisites:

Standard First Aid with CPR Level C (recommended but not required)

Grade 10 English (recommended for exam comprehension)
Course Format & Completion Requirements:
📍 In-Person Only | Delta Classroom
📆 Multi-day course (typically 5–7 days depending on schedule)
To receive certification, participants must:

Attend 100% of scheduled in-person sessions
-
Successfully demonstrate all practical skills
-
Pass two evaluated scenarios (1 trauma, 1 medical)
-
Achieve 75% or higher on the final written exam
Certification Awarded:
-
✅ 3-Year First Responder (FR) Certification
-
✅ Digital certification issued upon successful completion
-
🔁 Recertification required every 3 years

After You Complete the Course: Licensing in BC
Once certified, you may apply for licensing with the Emergency Medical Assistants Licensing Board (EMALB):
Step 1: Request an EMALB license evaluation
Step 2: Pass your licensing exams (written and practical) within 12 months of course completion
Step 3: Submit your application to EMALB via the Government of BC EMALB website
