The WorkSafeBC Transportation Endorsement course is an 8-hour training program focused on the safe transport of injured workers to medical aid. This course is designed for individuals who already hold a valid WorkSafeBC Basic or Intermediate First Aid certification and wish to enhance their skills in patient transport.
Training Location:

Minimum Participants:
This training is only being offered upon request, minimum of 8 students required for on-site training.
Duration:
- 8 hours of in-person instruction
Course Overview:
This course provides participants with the necessary knowledge and hands-on skills required to safely package and transport injured workers to medical aid. The training includes critical airway management, spinal precautions, and patient positioning for transport.
Completion Requirements:
To successfully complete the course, participants must:
✔ Demonstrate all required practical skills
✔ Maintain 100% attendance and active participation
✔ Successfully complete all practical competency assessments
Certification:
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a WorkSafeBC Transportation Endorsement certification, valid for 3 years.
Course Content:
Participants will learn and practice essential patient transport techniques, including:
✅ Patient Packaging for Transport:
- Supine and lateral positioning for trauma
- ¾ prone drainage position
- Position of comfort for various medical emergencies
✅ Review of Patient Assessment:
- WorkSafeBC Basic First Aid assessment review
- Scene management and primary/secondary survey
✅ Airway, Breathing, and Circulation Management:
- Critical interventions for airway obstruction, breathing distress, and circulation issues
- C-Spine management to prevent further injury during transport
